NFE_FLNG Lakach Upstream_RAM Study Current Engineering (Basic)
The main target of a RAMP Analysis is to forecast the availability (“On Stream Factor”) and deferred production (production losses) of a production process, based on its configuration, on the reliability of its components, on the maintenance policies and on the operation philosophy.
The analysis is based upon a Simulation Model (RAMP Model) that considers; among others, the following aspects:
The fundamental base of this analysis is the estimation of the Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) and Mean Time To Repair (MTTR) that better characterize the diverse production system equipments, taken of generic data banks of the industry, own experience and experts' opinion.
Once the RAM model is built, it works as a “what if” simulator that helps to infer the impact on availability and loss of production caused by: new maintenance policies, equipment maintainability changes, application of new technology, changes of equipment arrangements within the production processes, inventory policy changes and the implementation of new production methods.
